Review: Mashle Magic & Muscles

Mashle season 2 trailer
Yesterday, as I scrolled on my guilty-pleasure anime site for something fun and new, because I was bored of rewatching old series like Naruto Shippuden, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, etc., I stumbled on Mashle: Magic & Muscles and I was pleasantly satisfied. It had the right blend of comedy and action and sentiment that I was seeking.

Mashle is a story about Mash, a Saitama-like character living in a magic-is-everything world, quite like Black Clover. Mashle takes comedy as the priority and every episode delivers on the humor front. The stakes are clear but aren't exaggerated like in other shonen (such as Black Clover or My Hero Academia).

Mash's workout

I was able to enjoy Mashle enough to complete the first season in a night. It was very fun and entertaining, and the introductory episode guarantees the next will be at least just as fun and worth the watch, unlike legacy shows such as Bleach or Yu Yu Hakusho which I can't bring myself to continue.

Mashle s1 e1

Mashle is a perfect blend of One Punch Man and Black Clover, but I must admit I say this because I watched OPM and BC before stumbling onto the fun-mine Mashle turned out to be.

Mashle turned out to be a great show, so I hope a lot more anime fans will watch it so that it will be rated higher.

I'm currently waiting for the English dub to be released before watching season 2. Apparently, Aniplex of America is fond of releasing the English dub only after a show is almost midway done, so I've got to wait.
